IMPORTANT NOTE

USEFUL TIPS BEFORE PURCHASE OF ANY SPARE PART

THIS COULD SAVE YOU A LOT OF MONEY!

 

IF YOUR HOT TUB IS NOT HEATING IT COULD BE A NUMBER OF CAUSES.

 

THE MOST USUAL ARE.

 

DIRTY FILTER   = Run hot tub without filter and ONLY with 100% clean water. Check after 1 hour if returning water is slightly warmer than the water around it. If it is change filter. DO NOT USE WHILE TESTING.

 

How often should I change my filter?  If light use and always covered when not in use, up to 3 weeks.

If you had a party the night before, change within 24 hours

If children (not advised EVER to use hot tubs on their own) 24 hours

Never allow children to run around over grass etc as this draws debris into the water 24 hours or far less.

Never ever allow your hot tub to run without filter it is expensive. The item below will occur and if under warranty WE WILL KNOW! 

 

BLOCKED INTAKE  =  If you have run your hot tub before with NO filter or soiled water that should have been changed weeks earlier it is almost certain your water intake is blocked usually by hair or other debris. This restricts flow and the hot tub heater cuts out to avoid serious damage. Remove filter and check intake. If this is clear remove complete electrics and check the impeller in the circulating pump. Very often you will find it jammed very restricted by hair etc.

 

What is the chances of a failed part?

 

Temperature sensor   =  Rare

PCB board                =  Low to rare

Control Panel            = Low

Heating element        = Medium

Flow switch               = Low

Air Pump                  = Low

Filter                        = Very high

Circulation pump        = Very high (through misuse, jammed / burnt out motor)

 

We hope this information has been helpful. If your warranty has expired it could only be a matter of cleaning and NO financial outlay! If you are still in warranty and check these items yourself it could almost certainly avoid the inconvenience of returning your electrical operating system unit complete to ourselves for inspection. This can be expensive, while Insignia Spas offer free postage both delivery and return if a makers part has genuinely failed, they DO CHARGE if the fault is not makers failure but neglect! The cost is postage both ways and a service charge of £65.00 +vat, plus any part needing replacement. Just a little thought, care and time, we hope will save so much money!
